Become a Contributor

Submit nodes, fork existing work, and build your intellectual lineage on NodeRail. Open to researchers, students, practitioners, and independent thinkers.

Become a Field Maintainer

Curate the canon of an existing field. Review submissions, approve canonical status, and protect the field's intellectual integrity. Requires demonstrated expertise.

Propose a new Field

Have a domain of knowledge that deserves structured, citable infrastructure? Submit a Field proposal with a constitution, definitions, scope, and governance model.

Every submission is reviewed against the criteria below. We respond within 48 hours with a clear next step.

A brief onboarding conversation

For most applicants, we schedule a 20-minute call to understand your work and help you structure your first node correctly.

You publish your first node

Once onboarded, you publish your first node with a DOI, full lineage metadata, and a citable citation block.

Your work is permanently citable

From that point forward, your node is a permanent, versioned, citable academic artifact.

What we assess submissions for

Intellectual substance Does the work represent genuine thinking, not just a summary of existing ideas?

Structurability Can the work be structured as a node with clear scope, definitions, and lineage?

Continuity intent Is the applicant committed to maintaining and developing the work over time?

Open to contribution NodeRail is shared infrastructure. Work published here is open for others to fork and extend with full attribution.

Institutional affiliation is not required Independent researchers, practitioners, and students without institutional backing are equally welcome.
